PRESS RELEASE TO JOURNALISTS OF KONSTANTINOS STATHEROS PUBLICATIONS

Konstantinos Statheros Publications is a newly established publishing house that is dynamically and promisingly entering the book space. Dynamic because the three titles that are in your hands are original scientific treatises and promising because these studies deal with subjects of concern unprecedented for the Greek data, so as to give the possibility of creating a new field of research.

These are the books "Schizophrenia in my teacher Socrates", "The Origin of Homosexuality" and "Psychic Variations in the human species", which were written by the publisher, author and researcher Konstantinos Statheros. A few words about each title are deemed necessary.

In the book "Schizophrenia in my teacher Socrates" Constantinos Statheros presents all those evidence - symptoms that confirm the above finding. The famous "Socratic demon" is analyzed, which was not an inner voice, despite the philosopher's psychosis. Other features are also mentioned, such as neglect of personal hygiene, incomprehensible incoherent speech, symptoms of embrodesis and catalepsy. Seen differently, "Socratic irony" is also presented, as a symptom of concrete perception, i.e. the inability of people with schizophrenia to perceive the meaning of metaphorical sentences.

Through thorough analyzes of the writings of Plato and Plutarch as well as other writers and philosophers, the author interprets all the hidden points that support his claim, to arrive at the position that the allegory of the Cave was ultimately a symbolic description of the schizophrenia of the great philosopher.

In the book "Mental Varieties in the Human Species" the term disorder is redefined. According to classical psychology, deviant behavior is considered a disorder. This definition, however, is inconsistent with evolutionary theory, as some subsets of the same species tend to differentiate, thus creating distinct varieties. If we accept that variety is generally defined as that which deviates from the common type, problems arise as to the clarification of the term "disorder". Are there, after all, simple differences in behavior or behavioral disorders? In simple terms, the author demonstrates that what classical psychiatry lists as symptoms of a disorder, are nothing more than the characteristic features of a...mental variety. Autism, narcissism, and even psychopathy are not psychoneurological disorders, but psychoneurological varieties in the human species. In this volume, the author demonstrates that the existing view is characterized more by changing social perceptions than by the rules and framework of evolutionary science. After all, it is paradoxical that the same science considers other "deviant behaviors" as normal variations of human behavior - such as homosexuality - and considers others as disorders, failing to provide scientific criteria for this ambivalent approach. Clearly, the fact of the existence of mental illnesses is not disputed. However, it becomes necessary - and this is attempted here - the foundation of a new view for their distinction and finally the formation of a psychological approach that will be consistent both with evolutionary science and with itself.

Finally, in the book "The Origin of Homosexuality" the author, researcher and publisher presents one finding: homosexuality is incompatible with evolutionary theory, and two concerns: why should homosexuality appear in nature and why should it be preserved by Natural Selection, since does not result in reproduction . The above evolutionary puzzle was led to its solution by changing the existing approach and relating homosexuality to other sexual and reproductive phenomena. Through the -exhaustive- citation of examples from the natural environment, the author-researcher established the law of the Nearest Available which is also the answer to the causes of the emergence of homosexuality, not only in humans, but also in every other living species. The conclusion that is drawn is that homosexuality appeared as an evolutionary crossroad, it occurred, that is, as a "random" result of the action of two opposing forces of Natural Selection, which are described in detail in this book.

It would be a good idea, if there is interest from you, that the books of our Publishing House open, with your own promotion and exposure, a constructive dialogue with the scientific community.

We are at your disposal for any further clarification.

Yours sincerely,

The team of the Constantinos Stableros Publishing House
